The Minneapolis woman killed by ICE yesterday, 37-year-old Renee Good, was a mother of three. Her children are reportedly 15, 12, and 6 years old.
The 37-year-old was reportedly a poet and writer. According to FOX, she and her spouse operated B. Good Handywork LLC, which performed home repairs and remodels. Â
According to multiple sources, Renee moved to Minnesota from Missouri last year. According to The Guardian, she had no criminal record and had no prior law enforcement encounters beyond a traffic ticket, records show.
She was in her vehicle with her wife, Rebecca Brown-Good, when the shooting took place. According to FOX, Rebecca blames herself for the shooting, stating that, "I made her come down here. It’s my fault." The couple was reportedly protesting ICE for several hours when an ICE agent opened fire multiple times on their vehicle as she tried to drive forward. It has not been confirmed how many times Renee was shot.
The city's Mayor, Jacob Frey, scolded ICE during a press event, ordering them to "Get the Fu** out of Minneapolis." Mayor Frey continued, "We do not want you here. Your stated reason for being in this city is to create some kind of safety, and you're doing exactly the opposite."
The Department of Homeland Security spokesperson Tricia McLaughlin justified the shooting as "an act of self-defense." McLaughlin contended that Renee attempted to run over law enforcement officers at an ICE protest site. Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem called the driver's actions an "act of domestic terrorism" during a press statement.
Several videos show different angles, indicating that Good did not attempt to run over the agent. Many bystanders expressed disapproval of ICE's decision. Several bystanders can be heard calling ICE "murderers," and screaming "shame." One bystander asked the agent who shot Good "Do you have a conscience?" The same bystander told everyone not to let the shooter leave. Another bystander claimed to be a doctor, and was disallowed by ICE to check Good's vitals.

The Governor of Minnesota, Tim Walz, said, "We have someone dead in their car for no reason whatsoever." He ruled the situation as "preventable" and "unnecessary." Governor Walz is reportedly looking to seek assistance from the state's national guard, to help restore order and keep the citizens safe.Â
The twin cities have been protesting Renee's death since yesterday. Minneapolis Public Schools cancelled school for the remainder of the week.
