Actor and director, Rob Reiner, and his wife, Michele, were found murdered in their California home

The bodies of actor and director Robert Reiner and his wife, Michele, were discovered in their Brentwood, California home on Sunday afternoon by their daughter, Romy, according to PEOPLE.

Local authorities are investigating their deaths as homicides, as both bodies reportedly had multiple stab wounds.

According to PEOPLE, “Rob Reiner and his wife, Michele Singer Reiner, were killed by their son, Nick Reiner, according to multiple sources who have spoken with family members. Police have not yet confirmed the account.”

Nick reportedly struggled with drug addiction and homelessness. PEOPLE confirmed that they interviewed Nick about battling addiction in 2016.

Los Angeles authorities have allegedly questioned Nick. Yet, no arrests have been confirmed. LAPD Deputy Chief Alan Hamilton released a statement saying, “At this time, the Los Angeles Police Department is not seeking anyone as a suspect or as a person of interest ... and we will not be doing that until we conduct our investigation and move forward.”

Reiner, 78, was a notable actor, director, producer, writer, and political activist. Michele, 68, was also a producer and photographer. His popularity rose while playing Michael “Meathead” Stivic on the iconic sitcom All in the Family, alongside Carroll O’Connor as Archie Bunker during the '70s.

He directed When Harry Met Sally, The Princess Bride, This Is Spinal Tap, Stand by Me, and A Few Good Men.

Rob and Michele have three children: Jake, Nick, and Romy. They reportedly met and married after working together on the set of When Harry Met Sally. Rob also has an older daughter, Tracy Reiner, from his first marriage to actress Penny Marshall.
