UCLA won the NCAA Women’s Championship by defeating South Carolina, marking the first NCAA title in the history of its women's program.

Last year, South Carolina lost to UConn in the finals. Coach Dawn Staley has achieved three NCAA titles, winning in 2017, 2022, and 2024. This season was her seventh appearance in the Final Four.

UCLA's coach, Cori Close, led the team to an impressive season with a record of 36-1. She's been the head coach since 2011.

This year's journey to the finals was particularly interesting for women's college basketball. During the Final Four, Staley had a verbal confrontation with UConn’s head coach, Geno Auriemma, on the sideline, which went viral on the internet.

Congratulations to the Lady Bruins!
