TLC’s ‘Chilli’ clarifies her stance with MAGA and explains she reshared the Michelle Obama conspiracy post by accident

TLC’s Rozonda “Chilli” Thomas addressed recent criticism on Instagram regarding her "perceived" support for President Trump and a video that Chilli reshared about Michelle Obama.

This month, several blogs reported that Chilli reshared a post about a conspiracy alleging that Michelle Obama is a man. Additionally, last week, various media outlets reported that the singer made several contributions to Donald Trump’s 2024 campaign, including the donation receipts.

Following the allegations, Chili addressed the claims on Instagram. Her post stated, I WANT TO BE CLEAR: I am not MAGA and do not support any of the many policies that are causing great harm to the American people. I made a mistake too many make: I did not read the fine print. I thought I was supporting causes against human trafficking and for veterans.

Two things I care deeply about as my dad is a veteran and everyone knows I love children. I have learned a valuable lesson and ask for grace as I navigate this.

She also shared a video, addressing her love, respect, and adoration for Michelle Obama. The singer said, "I have the utmost respect and admiration for Michelle Obama, and I would never say or do anything that is disrespectful to her or any woman! I would never do that."

Chilli explained that she accidentally shared a conspiracy video about the former first lady by hitting the reshare button without realizing it. She noted, "All of these buttons are very, very close to each other." Chilli expressed her support for the Obamas and mentioned that she had donated to their campaigns, as well as supported Michelle’s former wellness program, Let's Move! The "No Scrubs" singer reminded her fans that her social media posts focus on love, faith, and connection.

TLC will perform on the "It's Iconic" tour with En Vogue and Salt-N-Pepa, starting on August 15th. Salt lended her support to Chilli, she told her, “Chilli please keep your pretty head all the way up sister, this world is very quick to believe anything and everything posted on social media. Quick to crucify and slow to forgive. Even when you straighten it out haters will always hate. We know you and your heart. I truly pray that you don't shed not one tear or lose not one minute of sleep or peace over any of this.”
