The internet is still debating whether Dr. Cheyenne Bryant is actually a doctor, particularly after she refused to provide proof of her credentials.

Despite her impressive resume, which includes serving as the President of a chapter of the NAACP, working as an on-screen life coach for MTV's Teen Mom: Family Reunion, authoring books, and founding The Bryant Institute, Dr. Bryant has faced criticism following her appearance on The Joe Budden Podcast. During the episode, she clarified that she does not hold the necessary license to practice clinical therapy and operates strictly as a “life coach” and “psychology expert.” Dr. Bryant explained that she chose to step away from using her licensure due to ethical and regulatory considerations.

Since that episode aired, social media users and peers in her field have questioned the authenticity of her credentials. Some individuals expressed skepticism, noting that they could not find a copy of her doctoral dissertation online.

In a recent appearance on The Breakfast Club, Bryant stated that she is unfazed by the criticism and will not provide her academic credentials to the public. She asserted, “I have multiple degrees, and I’m not going to prove anything to anybody…My obedience is to God, not to people.”

Dr. Bryant also explained that the university where she completed her doctoral program, Argosy University in Seattle, has closed, making it impossible for her to obtain her “official transcripts” from the third party that now houses the school's records. She mentioned that her explanation during The Breakfast Club appearance would be the only time she would address the issue publicly. She sent a message to those who do not support her, saying, “I don't give a fuck what your narrative is, I would like for you to recreate it, double down on it, and run that shit, cause I don't give a fuck about it!”

A panel of experts appeared on the show Isiah Factor: Uncensored, featuring Dr. Jasmine Boone, Dr. Bernadette Smith, and Dr. Angela Jones. They discussed the media controversy surrounding Dr. Bryant's criticism. The panelists believe that Dr. Bryant is further undermining her credibility by failing to prove that she earned a doctorate degree. They pointed out numerous contradictions and gaps in her advice that do not align with the established teachings in her field. The panel stated, "We are bound by different standards...Some of the advice that she has provided or some of the things that she has shared definetely crosses and blurs that line from an ethical space that can do a lot of harm."

Additionally, the doctors noted that despite Bryant's school closing permanently, the third party, Partridge.com, has maintained records for former students for over a decade. It was also confirmed during the show that doctoral program dissertations are published online in national databases.

Bryant has recently released her book, Live Your Promise, and is currently on a multi-city tour.
