According to KABC in Los Angeles, singer D4vd has been arrested in connection with the murder of a teenager whose decomposed body was discovered in the trunk of a Tesla registered to him, police said Thursday.

D4vd, whose legal name is David Burke, is currently being held without bail in Los Angeles.

In September 2025, the body of 14-year-old Celeste Rivas Hernandez was found in the front trunk of an impounded Tesla at a tow yard in Hollywood. She had reportedly been missing from her family in California for over 17 months when her remains were located. According to TMZ, Celeste’s mother mentioned that her daughter had a boyfriend named David.

Notably, D4vd has an unreleased song titled "Celeste," which features dark themes where he expresses an obsession for a love interest named Celeste, mentioning that he can still smell her on his clothes and that she has his name tattooed on her. Reports indicate that both D4vd and Celeste had "Shhh..." tattooed on their right index fingers.

According to Rolling Stone, D4vd's attorney gave the following statement: “Let us be clear, the actual evidence in this case will show that David Burke did not murder Celeste Rivas Hernandez, and he was not the cause of her death,” lawyers Blair Berk, Marilyn Bednarski, and Regina Peter said in the statement sent to Rolling Stone. “There has been no indictment returned by any grand jury in this case and no criminal complaint filed. David has only been detained under suspicion. We will vigorously defend David’s innocence.”
