According to multiple media outlets, a shooting occurred at Drake's Toronto mansion today. Drake was not harmed, but his security guard was reportedly hospitalized with severe injuries, according to CBC news. The rapper's 50,000-square-foot home was attacked around 2:00 am this morning, and the assailant reportedly left in a vehicle that has yet to be identified.
"The entrance to the sprawling property on Park Lane Circle in the ritzy Bridle Path neighborhood was taped off by officers early Tuesday. There was a heavy police presence in the area throughout the morning. A police source previously told CBC News initial reports suggest it was a drive-by shooting. The security guard suffered a gunshot wound to the upper chest and was unconscious when officers arrived, the source said. He was taken to the hospital, where he underwent surgery," according to Canada's CBC News.
The shooting comes amid several lyrical feuds between Drake and other rappers, especially Kendrick Lamar. The lyrical battle between Kendrick Lamar has escalated to where extremely damaging remarks are being made on both sides in a series of diss records. Kendrick's more piercing diss track, "Meet the Grahams," insinuates that Drake is a pedophile, a sexual deviant, and a drug abuser. He berates Drake for being immoral and not being a respectable father. "Meet the Grahams" also addresses Drake's parents, Lamar stated, "You raised a horrible fuckin' person, the nerve of you, Dennis. Sandra, sit down; what I'm about to say is heavy; now listen
Mm-mm, your son's a sick man with sick thoughts; I think niggas like him should die. He and Weinstein should get fucked up in a cell for the rest of their life." The former TDE rapper also speaks to Drake's son, Adonis, reassuring him that he can be a support system for him in the future, due to the unfortunate fact that he's fathered by the Canadian rapper, he states, "And you're a good kid that need good leadership. Let me be your mentor since your daddy don't teach you shit."
In retaliation, Drake has implied that Lamar's former manager and friend fathered one of Lamar's children and insinuated that the Compton rapper was molested as a child. The Canadian entertainer said to Lamar on "The Heart Part 6," "Mother, I—, mother—", ahh, wait a second. That's that one record where you say you got molested. Aw, fu** me, I just made the whole connection. This about to get so depressin.' This is trauma from your own confessions. This when your father leave you home alone with no protection, so neglected. That's why these pedophile raps and shit you so obsessed with, it's so excessive.
CBC reports "The cover of Lamar's latest diss track Not Like Us features a satellite image of Drake's house with a number of red locator markers. Drake responded to the cover art in an Instagram post announcing the release of his most recent track in the feud, "The Heart Part 6." He appeared to address Lamar in the caption, writing: "instead of posting my address, you have a lot to address."
Drake's most recent Instagram post is a screenshot of Dave Free's social media post. Kendrick Lamar's Instagram accounts have no posts pertaining to the feud.
