Sony reportedly owns most of R. Kelly's music catalog and is therefore blamed for the recent release of his unauthorized album "I Admit It," as they govern over his music. Yet, the music industry is dumbfounded about how the project was completed and released.
R. Kelly stated on a recently recorded phone call from prison that it was not his voice on some of the album's music. Some suggest that auto-tune, a studio voice enhancer, was used to mimic his voice. Other people suspect that perhaps the songs were leaked online to legally interfere with his current appeal of the 30-year prison sentence he's serving for sex trafficking and federal racketeering.
Streaming platforms quickly removed R. Kelly's unauthorized tracks. The singer's lawyer reportedly doesn't think this situation will hamper his pending legal matters. Stay tuned for additional updates on R. Kelly and his pending legal issues.
