Princess Love announced her separation from Ray J via Instagram. Princess and Ray J married in 2016 in Los Angeles. They have two children, Melody and Epik.
The couple has had several public feuds and announced their separation multiple times before, only to reconcile later, but they have never gone through a divorce. In 2022, for the trailer of Love and Hip Hop: Hollywood, she said her willingness to participate in threesomes with Ray J is part of why their marriage has suffered. Over the years, Princess has aired many concerns about her issues with Ray J and his family, especially his mother, entertainment manager Sonja Norwood, and his sister, R&B singer Brandy. Their relationship began sometime after Love dated former boxer Floyd Mayweather. The pair have been regular cast members on Love & Hip Hop, which showcased their often rocky relationship and marriage ceremony.
Love's Instagram statement read, "Dear Friends and Family, it is with heavy hearts that we share the news of our decision to divorce." She continued, "After much reflection, discussion, and counseling, we have come to the difficult realization that our paths have diverged and it is in the best interest of both of us to part ways. We want to reassure you that this decision was made thoughtfully and with mutual respect and consideration for each other's well-being. While our relationship as spouses may be coming to an end, we remain committed to co-parenting our children and maintaining a positive and supportive family dynamic. Though this chapter of our lives may be closing, we look forward to embracing the opportunities for growth, healing, and new beginnings that lie ahead," she said. "We are confident that with time, understanding, and the support of our loved ones, we will navigate this transition with grace and resilience. Thank you for your understanding and support."
