Rapper Poo Shiesty, whose legal name is Lontrell D. Williams Jr., was arrested in Dallas on a federal warrant. His father, Lontrell D. Williams Sr., was also reportedly arrested during a federal raid at their family home in Tennessee, in connection with an armed kidnapping that occurred on January 10, where rapper Gucci Mane was allegedly one of the victims. Additionally, rapper Big 30 has been arrested and linked to the case.

According to NBC DFW, a total of eight individuals were taken into custody on Thursday in Dallas, Memphis, and Nashville as part of the investigation, and authorities are currently searching for another person involved.

NBC DFW reports that in January, while meeting with Gucci Mane and other music industry professionals, Pooh Shiesty (Williams Jr.) and eight co-conspirators "executed a coordinated armed takeover" targeting Gucci Mane and others. Prosecutors allege that the group was armed with a pistol and forced Gucci Mane to sign a contract that released Shiesty from his music contract with GM's music label. The allegations also state that the other co-conspirators robbed the victims of Rolex watches, jewelry, and other valuables.

According to The Source, Shiesty was in Texas during the final stages of his federal sentence, transitioning through a halfway house after being released in October 2025 for good behavior when he was taken into custody.

In 2022, he was sentenced to 63 months for a firearms case in Florida from 2020. Shiesty was allegedly involved in a robbery and shooting in Bay Harbor Islands, Florida, where a man was shot in the buttocks during a botched drug and sneaker deal.

The January incident was reportedly captured on security footage. According to WREG, a judge has yet to determine whether there is probable cause to proceed with prosecution. On Friday, Shiesty's father, Big 30, and four other defendants appeared in court.

This story is still developing.
