Kandi Burruss, a member of the R&B group Xscape and star on the reality show The Real Housewives of Atlanta, has reportedly filed for divorce from her husband, television producer Todd Tucker.
Kandi and Todd married in 2014. The entertainment veteran announced their split to PEOPLE, stating, "After deep thought and a lot of prayer, I’ve made the decision to move forward with a divorce. This is a difficult and emotional time, but my focus remains on protecting my peace, being the best mother I can be, and co-parenting with love and respect."
She continued, "I’m stepping into a new chapter, pouring into my work, my family, and my own growth. I’m grateful to everyone who supported us throughout the years, and I ask for privacy, grace, and understanding as we navigate this transition with our family."
They share two children, a son named Ace and a daughter named Blaze. They each have one daughter from previous relationships.
Kandi has recently found success in theater production, having produced productions such as The Wiz, The Piano Lesson, Thoughts of a Colored Man, and Othello (which starred Denzel Washington and Jake Gyllenhaal). She is also a songwriter, actress, and song producer. Kandi and her daughter, Riley, recently launched a podcast titled "The Burruss Banter."
Todd contributed to production for season 4 of RHOA, as well as for Run's House (2005–2008) and Oprah Behind the Scenes (2011).
The couple also owned two restaurants in the Atlanta area, Old Lady Gang and Blaze Steak & Seafood, both of which are reportedly closed.
