In March, Creed 3 star Jonathan Majors was accused of assaulting his girlfriend in New York City in a taxi. He was arrested and charged with strangulation, assault, and harassment. However, new video footage of his former girlfriend, Grace Jabbari, shows her partying at Loosie's Nightclub, following the incident, despite legal documents that state the actor left a laceration behind her ear and injured her right hand. The entertainer's attorney Priya Chaudhry emailed CNN: "Jonathan Majors is innocent and has not abused anyone."
Although he's maintained his innocence, Jonathan has been dropped by his management team, Entertainment 360. The allegations against the actor have also caused him to be dropped from several upcoming movies he was set to produce and star in. According to BET.com, "The Dallas-based Texas Rangers were also forced to reconsider including the actor in their 2023 season ad campaign. Growing up, Major reportedly spent a significant amount of time in Dallas. The US Army made a similar decision and paused its advertising campaign featuring the actor in response to the ongoing scandal." Among the significant projects that he's been dismissed from include:
The biopic about former musician Otis Redding.
A starring role as former NBA star Dennis Rodman.
Two upcoming Marvel Avengers movies with 2025 and 2026 release dates.
According to a report obtained by Variety, his attorney released text messages his then-girlfriend Grace sent to him, where she took responsibility for the altercation; her messages stated, "I told them it was my fault for trying to grab your phone." "I reiterated how this was not an attack." Grace also told Jonathan in the text messages that she didn't want law enforcement to proceed with the charges. Majors reportedly called the police after the incident because his girlfriend has a mental condition. The cab driver who drove the couple on the night of the altercation advised that he saw Majors' then-girlfriend assault him. The actor is scheduled to attend court on May 8th.
