According to Netflix, 60 million homes tuned in to watch the highly anticipated brawl between Mike Tyson and Jake Paul. Iron Mike is receiving some flack on social media for boxing past his prime at 58; yet Tyson is taking his loss in stride. The former heavyweight champ shared his feelings via Instagram: "This is one of those situations when you lost but still won. I'm grateful for last night. No regrets to get in the ring one last time. He continued, I almost died in June. Had 8 blood transfusions. Lost half my blood and 25lbs in hospital and had to fight to get healthy to fight so I won."

Iron Mike continued, "To have my children see me stand toe to toe and finish eight rounds with a talented fighter half my age in front of a packed Dallas Cowboy stadium is an experience that no man has the right to ask for. Thank you 🙏." #PaulTyson

27-year-old Paul defeated Iron Mike by unanimous decision. After the fight, Paul praised the legendary boxer, saying, "He's the G.O.A.T. I look up to him, I'm inspired by him, and we wouldn't be here today without him. This man is an icon, and it's just an honor to be able to fight him."

Tyson claimed that last Friday's match would be the last time he'd enter the ring, ending his career with a record of 50-7, with 44 knockouts.

However, Iron Mike came out of retirement in 2020 to fight former boxing icon Roy Jones Jr., and he's being called out by his former boxing nemesis Evander Holyfield for a third fight. Evander shared a mock-up poster of the two on Instagram, stating, "The fans want it 🥊 #unfinishedbusiness." Tyson replied in the comments, "I love you brother, but the trilogy is our friendship."

Tyson and Holyfield fought twice during their primes, once in 1996, when Holyfield won by TKO, and a second in 1997, when Mike bit off part of Holyfield's ear during the match, causing his disqualification. This fight remains one of the most memorable boxing matches of all time. The two athletes repaired their relationship over the years and are now friends.

Reports state that Tyson's purse was $20 million, while Paul earned $40 million for the fight.
