Disney intends to make 50 percent of its characters represent LGBTQ and minorities by the end of 2022. Per an executive at the company, this implementation is because they are pushing to be more inclusive with their character representation.

This announcement has sparked a social outcry, as some adults feel that the inclusion of LGBTQ characters will be damaging to children's mindsets. Others believe that the media should not groom children for sexual orientation, and Disney should continue to allow their productions to be child and family-friendly.
