Tory Lanez Stabbed 14 Times in Prison by Inmate Who is Allegedly Serving a Life Sentence

Tory Lanez was reportedly stabbed 14 times while in prison. He is currently serving a ten-year sentence at the California Correctional Institution in Tehachapi, California, for shooting rapper Megan Thee Stallion in the foot in 2020.

In 2022, Tory was found guilty of the shooting, as well as assault with a semiautomatic firearm, carrying a loaded, unregistered firearm in a vehicle, and discharging a firearm with gross negligence.

According to his team, the musician was stabbed a total of 14 times in various parts of his body, including his back, head, face, and torso. They report that he is speaking "normally" and is in good spirits. The artist, whose real name is Daystar Peterson and who hails from Canada, suffered a collapsed lung and was placed on a breathing machine; however, he is reportedly in stable condition.

According to PEOPLE, "The man accused of stabbing Tory Lanez has been identified as Santino Casio, who is serving a life sentence for murder."

PEOPLE also reported that Casio has been in prison in Los Angeles County since February 2004. He was sentenced to life with the possibility of parole for second-degree murder, first-degree attempted murder, personal use of a dangerous or deadly weapon, and inflicting great bodily injury. In January 2008, Casio was sentenced by Imperial County to six years for assault by a prisoner with a deadly weapon of force likely to cause great bodily injury, an in-prison offense, and again in June 2018 for two years for possession/Manufacture of a deadly weapon by a prisoner, an in-prison offense.

The prison is currently investigating the situation, but no motive has been reported at this time.
