Chris Brown was reportedly arrested in Manchester, England, Thursday for assaulting music producer Abe Diaw with a tequila bottle at Tape nightclub in London in 2023. Chris was reportedly picked up around 2:30 AM at the Lowry Hotel.
According to The Sun, the R&B star is held on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm to music producer Abe. Diaw previously filed a lawsuit against the singer, alleging he did serious bodily harm to him during the altercation-punching and kicking him after hitting him with the bottle.
Chris is currently touring in Europe. The European leg of his Breezy Bowl XX tour runs through July.
According to ABC 13, the singer was transferred to Southwark Crown Court in London, where he will appear on June 13.
Chris has experienced a tumultuous career. In 2009, while he was dating Rihanna, he was arrested and convicted of felony assault following a domestic dispute between them. Despite being a chart-topping star and a Grammy-winning artist, the 36-year-old singer has faced challenges in his career since the incident with Rihanna.
Chris' tour manager, Anthony "Ant" Wilson, gave an update on social media, thanking everyone for their support and affirming that he's "confident" Chris will be released soon. Anthony also stated that Brown's world tour is still "ON" and that all performances and appearances will proceed as planned.
