Brandy received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on Monday, making her the 2,839th recipient of this honor. The Grammy Award-winning singer expressed her gratitude during the ceremony, stating, "Seeing the stars on the Walk of Fame lit something in me. It made me believe. It made me affirm over my own life: I'm going to sing my way on to one of these stars. And I did!"

For her sophomore album, Never Say Never, Brandy won the Grammy Award for Best R&B Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocals alongside Monica for their hit song "The Boy Is Mine." The duo recently collaborated again for the "The Boy Is Mine" tour, which ended last December.

Never Say Never sold 16 million copies worldwide. Over the course of her career, Brandy has sold more than 40 million albums globally.

Brandy's debut album, titled Brandy, was released in 1994 after her family moved from their hometown of McComb, Mississippi, to Los Angeles to support her music career. She initially appeared on the short-lived music-based television show Thea and later starred in her own series, Moesha, which aired from 1996 to 2001.

Fans remember Brandy's career as the (Brandy, Monica, and Aaliyah) era, as all three teen prodigies appeared on the R&B scene almost simultaneously during the '90s and had stellar careers.

Throughout her career, Brandy has released seven studio albums, two of which were mainly produced by Rodney "Darkchild" Jerkins, who played a crucial role in shaping her sound. As a testament to her vocal prowess, she earned the nickname "The Vocal Bible."

The singer of "I Wanna Be Down," who was primarily managed by her mother, Sonja Norwood, has also enjoyed a successful acting career.

During her the ceremony the vocalist also remarked, "As honored as I've been by every accolade, every milestone, every form of recognition, I didn't want to stop at just being remembered on the Hollywood High School mural. I wanted a legacy written in stone."

Brandy released her memoir, Phases, on March 31
