Ahmaud Arbery's Murderers Were Found Guilty of Violating His Civil Rights

Ahmaud Arbery's murderers were found guilty of violating his civil rights in yesterday's federal trial. His family is once again relieved. His mother, Wanda Cooper-Jones, addressed the Department of Justice at a press conference regarding the initial plea deal they attempted to give the McMichaels and William Bryan. She issued the following statement via CBS News "They were made to do their job today...They didn't have a son that was lying in a cold grave, and they still didn't hear my cry."

The assailants-father and son Gregory McMichael and Travis McMichael, and their neighbor William Bryan were sentenced to life in prison for his murder last year.

The recent federal conviction followed almost exactly two years after Ahmaud's murder. Ahmaud was killed while out for a jog in a Brunswick, Georgia, neighborhood. His killers justified their actions by saying they confused him for a burglar.

Rest in peace, Ahmaud.
