Texas Rep. James Talarico defeated US Rep. Jasmine Crockett in the Texas Democratic Senate primary. James, therefore, won the Senate Democratic nomination. After his victory, Talarico shared a post on Instagram saying, "We're about to take back Texas."

Crockett said she called Talarcio and "congratulated him on becoming the Senate nominee," Crockett stated,  "Texas is primed to turn blue and we must remain united because this is bigger than any one person," Crockett said. "This is about the future of all 30 million Texans and getting America back on track. With the primary behind us, Democrats must rally around our nominees and win. I'm committed to doing my part and will continue working to elect democrats up and down the ballot."

Crockett, a criminal defense attorney, became especially popular for her political stances and for being extremely vocal about the current Trump administration, leading to many battles with fellow Congress members. Jasmine went viral after an extremely heated exchange with former US Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene. She was heavily criticized for calling Texas Governor Greg Abbott, who is wheelchair bound, "Governor Hot Wheels."

The US Representative also serves on the House Judiciary and Oversight Committees. Her primary focus in Congress is civil rights, voting rights, immigration, criminal justice reform, and economic equity. Crockett will remain in the US House of Representatives through the remainder of her term.
