Three people were reportedly killed, including a gunman, at an apartment in downtown Minneapolis on Tuesday.

According to multiple media outlets, three Minneapolis officers and two bystanders were wounded as well. The authorities were reportedly called to the residence around 4:30 pm. SWAT and armored cars were reportedly at the scene.

According to NBC News, they received the following information from their affiliate (KARE). A KARE reporter said she spoke with multiple witnesses who saw people injured in the lobby of an apartment building.

One resident said he got a call about the shooting from a friend. While he was trying to leave, the elevator stopped on a floor, and police told him he had to get out of the building. As he went through the lobby, he saw multiple people shot on the ground, KARE reported.

FOX 9 (KMSP) identified the shooter as Carlton Johnson II. The network reported that the apartment manager was trying to evict him because of his behavior. The gunman, who was reported to be 35, allegedly had confrontations with other tenants and had a physical altercation with a tenant as well. Johnson also allegedly openly carried a handgun at the complex and told one of the residents that he was going to shoot someone.

The Star Tribune said Johnson had 34 separate criminal cases in the Twin Cities—Most of them involving traffic violations. Yet, Johnson was also charged in two assaults and two misdemeanor drug cases.

The names of the victims have not been released yet.

This is a developing story.
