The body of Lil Jon's son was discovered in a pond close to his home in Georgia

Authorities have confirmed that the body found in a pond in Milton, Georgia, on Friday belongs to 27-year-old Nathan Smith, the son of rapper and producer Lil Jon. Currently, local authorities do not suspect foul play.

Nathan was reported missing early Tuesday morning after running out of his home without his cellphone. A search for him has been ongoing since then.

Lil Jon confirmed the news via social media. He stated: "I am extremely heartbroken for the tragic loss of our son, Nathan Smith." His mother [Nicole Smith] and l are devastated. Nathan was the kindest human being you would ever meet. He was immensely caring, thoughtful, polite, passionate, and warmhearted - he loved his family and the friends in his life to the fullest.”

Jon also said, "He was an amazingly talented young man; a music producer, an artist and engineer, and graduate of NYU. We loved Nathan with all of our hearts and are incredibly proud of him. He was loved and appreciated, and in our last times together we're comforted in knowing that we expressed that very sentiment to him."

During the search, local authorities reported that Nathan may have been disoriented and in need of assistance, prompting concern for his safety from family and friends. The medical examiner did not disclose the cause of death.
