Texas High School Teacher Charged with Sex Trafficking Students with Assistance of Her Son

Kedria Grigsby/Harris County Sheriff's Office

A Texas school teacher has been charged with sex trafficking teenage girls. According to Inside Edition, Kedria Grigsby, a cosmetology teacher at Klein Cain High School in Klein, Texas, recruited and sex-trafficked at-risk girls to have sex with random customers. Kendria's 22-year-old son, Roger Magee, allegedly assisted Grigsby with pimping out the minors. Some of the alleged victims reported they were forced to have sex with men and required to give their money from their sex work to Roger.

The Sheriff's Department reportedly started investigating Grigsby and her son after receiving a call from someone who identified themselves as a victim in November 2022. The former high school teacher reportedly duped the minors into believing that she would offer them a place to stay, which turned into hotel stays that involved sex work. One of the alleged victims reportedly stated that she was physically abused and held against her will at Magee's home. Magee was arrested and charged before his mother. He's been charged with seven counts of trafficking of a child, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, sexual assault with a child between the ages of 14 and 17, and a single count of compelling prostitution of juveniles.

Grigsby has reportedly been charged with three counts of trafficking of a child and three counts of compelling prostitution of juveniles. IE obtained documents and a warrant that confirmed some of the hotel rooms the girls performed sex work at were rented with Grigsby's credit card. Evidence also supposedly revealed that Magee transported the minor females using his mother's car, according to the warrant.

However, during a press conference, social activist Quanell X stated that the high school was made aware of the teacher's role in the sex trafficking ring but allowed her to stay on the campus and continue working. One of the trafficking victims was reportedly the daughter of Grigby's fellow teacher at Klein Cain High.

According to Quanell, a teacher blew the whistle to school authorities and asked for anonymity. The teacher alleged to Quanell that she received threats from Grigby's son after speaking out about the sex ring. X stated during a press conference shared by FOX 26 Houston, "Ms. Gribgsby was allowed to remain on this campus after it was brought to the school administrator's attention that this was taking place in February of 2023." He continued, "These same administrators, instead of thoroughly investigating the complaint, they retaliated against the teacher who brought it to their attention."..."There's a complaint back in February 2023, a sworn statement by the teacher that named Ms. Grigsby—law enforcement went to her house about her daughter who was one of the victims." "And she came the next day and informed the school of what was happening in detail."

However, IE reports that deputies arrested Grigsby inside her classroom at Klein Cain High School last Monday. In a statement, the district said it first learned about the allegations against Grigsby a year ago, but that they did not discipline or dismiss the cosmetology teacher because the HCSO denied any open investigation at that time.

Dr. Jenny McGown, Klein ISD superintendent, released the following statement, "First, let us be clear: any behavior harming children is deplorable, and we will always fully cooperate with our many law enforcement partners to ensure anyone committing such acts is brought to justice. This individual will not return to Klein Cain or any Klein ISD school in any capacity, and we will continue to thoroughly investigate and prosecute any individual who betrays the trust of our students, families, and community."
