T-Boz is off the 'It's Iconic' tour until she recovers from a recent sickle cell flare-up that hospitalized her

TLC’s T-Boz has reportedly stepped down from the It’s Iconic tour, while regaining her health after a sickle cell flare-up.

During a show last week, her bandmate Chilli asked their fans to pray for the music icon as she recovered from the flare-up that caused her to be hospitalized. T-Boz’s longtime friend Dalvin from the R&B group Jodeci also asked fans to pray for T-Boz on social media.

T-Boz, whose real name is Tionne Watkins, has suffered from sickle cell since her childhood. She’s a national spokesperson for the Sickle Cell Disease Association of America. Over the years, she’s discussed her condition and all of the health-related issues she has faced, such as brain surgery and tumor removal. The tumor impacted her speech, balance, facial movements, hearing, and sight.

Due to the illness, the Grammy Award-winning singer gave birth to only one child, a daughter, Chase, and adopted a son, Chance, several years later.

On social media, the group’s manager Bill Diggins said, “At this time, Tionne is improving each day, and her current condition is not considered life-threatening. Her health and recovery remain our highest priority. Tionne looks forward to returning to the tour when she is fully recovered and medically cleared to perform. Chilli will continue to perform each night until Tionne is able to rejoin her on stage.”
