Lil Wayne and 2 Chainz are nearly selling out venues for Wayne's 20 Plus Years of Carter Classics tour. The 20-city tour kicked off in June. The Game will also be a part of the tour in select cities.
In Des Moines, Iowa, 2 Chainz opened the show, telling the packed crowd that they were the “best” audience he performed for so far on the tour! He continued to shout out the city of Des Moines and July birthdays!
Lil Wayne gave an exceptional high-energy performance while rapping several of his chart-topping hits, such as "Mr. Carter," "How to Love," "Duffle Bag Boy," as well as collaborations with 2 Chainz, such as "Rich as Fuc*."
He opened the show by explaining that people need each other and thanked the audience after rapping every snippet. He wrapped up the show by expressing his gratitude to his fans, reminding them that he's nothing without them. He stated, "I ain't shit without you!"
Weezy was exceptionally young when he began his rap career, making history as the youngest member to sign with his first rap group, Hot Boyz. Wayne was reportedly 12 when he signed with Cash Money Records. They released their debut album in 1997. The Louisiana native went on to release his solo album, Tha Block Is Hot in 1999, which went platinum.
He's a well-celebrated and heavily decorated artist who has won five Grammys and several other awards throughout his career.
