Suspect Who Reportedly Killed a Third Grade Teacher in Texas Was Found in Louisiana

Charvas Thompson is charged with murdering 28-year-Wendy Duan at her home in the Sugarland, Texas area. Charvas reportedly shot Wendy to death in her backyard after an argument on January 9th. According to her mother, the two met on the "Meet Me" dating app and were only dating for a week when he killed her.

Wendy was a beloved third-grade English as a Second Language Teacher (ESL) teacher at Boone Elementary School at the time of her death. She was honored with a Good Character Award and Teacher of The Year. Charvas fled the state of Texas but was apprehended in Shreveport, Louisiana, and has a $500,000 million bond.
