Four suspects who attempted to kidnap Afrobeats singer Tiwa Savage in Nigeria are now in custody. The attempted kidnapping was reportedly a result of the singer's newly hired domestic staff members who leaked information regarding her whereabouts and schedule to the persons involved in the abduction attempt. The Guardian obtained a statement from Nigeria's Police Force, which said they have "about four" suspects "in our custody." Tiwa's team also commented on social media: "Following recent reports online, we can confirm that on Thursday 13 April 2023, there was a major security breach at the residence of musician Tiwa Savage," the statement reads. "A number of suspects were caught and are currently being held under investigation at Alagbon Police Station, Ikoyi."
Savage's security team is applauded for recognizing the threat and acting quickly to keep her out of harm's way. We are thankful she's safe. For more news and updates, subscribe to Volume82.com.
