Singer D4vd has been officially charged with first-degree murder in connection with the death of 14-year-old Celeste Rivas Hernandez. He was arrested last Thursday in Los Angeles for his involvement in the teen's death.

On Monday, D4vd appeared in court with his attorney and pleaded not guilty to the charges he's facing. According to CBS Los Angeles, the motive in this case is believed to be an attempt to cover up a sexual relationship between the singer and the teenager.

During the court proceedings, D4vd's attorneys stated that they believe the evidence will demonstrate that he did not murder Celeste nor is he responsible for her death.

Additionally, D4vd is accused of repeatedly sexually abusing the minor. Los Angeles District Attorney Nathan Hopkins mentioned during a press conference that the 21-year-old faces charges of first-degree murder with special circumstances, including committing a crime for financial gain to maintain his lucrative career and killing a witness in an investigation.

Celeste was reported missing three times in 2024, and her friends reportedly knew about her relationship with the singer. Investigators allege that D4vd killed Celeste after she threatened to report their sexual relationship to the authorities, suggesting there was a pending investigation.

The District Attorney stated that Celeste was never heard from again after going to a home where D4vd was staying in the Hollywood Hills, California, in April. Her remains were discovered in Burke's Tesla in September 2025.
