Caitlin Clark was last night's number one WNBA draft pick and was selected by the Indiana Fever. She reportedly has a rookie deal of $338,000 for four years. Clark will have the chance to play alongside her former rival, Aliyah Boston, who attended South Carolina. Caitlin's teammate, former Iowa guard Kate Martin, reportedly attended the draft in support of Caitlin and was drafted by the Las Vegas Aces.

South Carolina's 2024 NCAA champion, Kamilla Cardoso, was the third-most-drafted player behind Cameron Brink, who attended Stanford. Cardoso's championship win in 2024 was a testament to her skills and potential in the WNBA. LSU's 2023 NCAA champion, Angel Reese, was last night's number seven draft pick after being selected by the Chicago Sky. Reese's 2023 NCAA championship win at LSU was a significant milestone in her career. Reese will have the chance to play with her former opponent, Kamilla Cardoso, as the Chicago Sky also drafted her.

Utah's Alissa Pili made a lot of noise in the NCAA this year, ranking number 13. She had a career-high game against South Carolina, earning 37 points in the game. This exceptional performance showcased her scoring abilities and potential in the WNBA. She put up the same statistics when Utah played against USC, demonstrating her consistency and adaptability. Pili was last night's eighth draft pick and selected by the Minnesota Lynx.

UConn lost two key players to the draft: Aaliyah Edwards and Nika Mühl. The Washington Mystics drafted Aaliyah, and the Seattle Storm picked up Nika.

The upcoming season is expected to be exciting. According to Sports Illustrated, Caitlin Clark's jersey for the Indiana Fever sold out shortly after the draft. Before the draft, Clark reportedly drove up Indiana Fever ticket sale prices, although she had not confirmed what team she'd be joiningfans assumed she was heading to Indiana. There's also major anticipation about the 2023 and 2024 NCAA champions, Angel Resse and Kamilla Cardoso, joining forces in Chicago! We can't wait for next season!
