NHL hockey reporter Jessi Pierce and her three children, Hudson, Cayden, and Avery, tragically lost their lives when their house caught on fire on Saturday in White Bear Lake, Minnesota. Pierce’s husband was reportedly out of town on a work trip at the time of the fire.
One day before the fire, Jessi shared heartwarming photos of her children on Twitter, captioned "bag(s) secured."
Jessi, 37, had contributed to NHL.com for the past ten seasons and co-hosted the podcast "Bardown Beauties." The NHL released a statement expressing its condolences: “The entire National Hockey League family sends our prayers and deepest condolences to the Pierce family on the passing of Jessi Pierce and her three young children.” The statement further noted, “Jessi loved our game and was a valued member of the NHL.com team for a decade. We will miss her terribly.”

According to People, "After graduating from Iowa State University, the late journalist became an NHL writer, working for the Minnesota Wild and going on to have her work featured in numerous publications, including USA Hockey, The Athletic, and the Minnesota Hockey Journal."

Iowa State Men's hockey program credits Pierce for playing an "important" role and "supporting" the program, and the NHL remembers her as “a fixture at Minnesota Wild games.”
This is an extremely sad time for those they left behind. A GoFundMe has been created for her husband, Mike Hinrichs. Click the link to donate.
