Hong Kong's famous and wealthy fashion model and influencer, Abby Choi, was brutally murdered and mutilated last month in China. Authorities have arrested another person, a 29-year-old unnamed woman, in connection with the crime. The initial parties apprehended were her ex-husband and ex-in laws, including her ex-husband's parents, her former brother-in-law, the alleged mistress of her ex-father-in-law, and two other people.
Hong Kong authorities discovered Abby's mutilated body in a property that belonged to her ex-husband's father, Kwong Kau, in the Lung Mei Tsuen village. Medical examiners said she suffered blunt force trauma to the head, which left a hole in her skull. Her body was seriously dismembered. According to the New York Post, "the search for Choi's torso and hands is ongoing after more than 100 police officers scoured a landfill but failed to locate them. An electric saw, meat slicer, hammer, face shields, and raincoats, as well as Choi's handbag, were also recovered from the crime scene." More of her body parts were also found throughout the house.
The wealthy socialite reportedly supported her former in-laws financially after divorcing her ex-husband, Alex Kwong, with whom she shared two children. Although she remarried Chris Tam and had two more children, it's said that Choi purchased her former in-laws an upscale apartment and continued to provide them with business opportunities. However, it's reported that the family plotted to take her life when the model decided to sell her ex-in-laws' luxury apartment.
Her family is in great disbelief as she was a well-accomplished person. With a growing Instagram of over 100K followers, she attracted the attention of the high-end fashion industry. Choi modeled for Elle, Harper's Bazaar, Vogue, and L'Officiel, and had a net worth of about $100 million before her passing. Her murder was truly shocking to her family and fans.
