Isaiah Lee, who attacked Dave Chappelle onstage at the Hollywood Bowl in 2022, has been sentenced to 270 days in jail. Lee claimed that he attacked Chappelle during a standup show because the comedian's jokes about the LGBTQ community triggered him because he's bi-sexual and was sexually molested as a child. He made the following statement about his actions to the New York Post "I identify as bisexual...and I wanted him to know what he said was triggering."
Lee had a knife blade on his person when he jumped on stage, yet he was intercepted and reportedly beaten up by Busta Rhymes, Jamie Foxx, and others. 24-year-old Lee sustained several injuries during the fight, including a broken arm. The 24-year-old allegedly suffers from mental health issues. Reports show that Lee stabbed his roommate at a transitional housing home and was later charged with attempted murder. The roommate identified him after the media attention he received from the Dave Chappelle incident. Lee pleaded not guilty to attempted murder in a Los Angeles court.
