The Buffalo Bill's safety Damar Hamlin suffered cardiac arrest and collapsed during Monday night's game against the Cincinnati Bengals. Hamlin is 24 years old.
Authorities believe the hit he received during the game shocked his body, causing his heart to stop. The paramedics worked on him for nearly 15 minutes before taking him to the hospital once his heartbeat was restored. The NFL, in turn, decided to stop Monday night's game.
Damar's uncle Dorrian Glenn advised CNN that Damar had to be resuscitated a second time at the hospital and remains on a ventilator in intensive care. His uncle also said his lungs are damaged.
Fellow players are shocked and saddened by this scare. Fans have stopped by the University of Cincinnati Hospital to pray for him.
We are praying for Damar.
