Basketball Wives has entered its tenth season on VH1. Some very memorable cast members are missing, and some have returned. Still, the current lineup (Malaysia Pargo, Jackie Christie, Jennifer Williams, Brooke Bailey, Brandi Maxiell, Angel Brinks, DJ Duffey, British Williams, and guest appearances from Shaunie O'Neal) should make excellent reality tv.
After a divorce from former NBA star Shaquille O'Neal, Shaunie O'Neal developed the show, and the VH1 network picked it up in 2010. She, in turn, became an executive producer and one of the stars. Her initial concept for the television program was to showcase the behind-the-scenes and everyday lifestyles of certain NBA players' wives (or girlfriends or fiances). Things are known to heat up on Basketball Wives; a great deal of adversity has existed among the cast members throughout the years, even to the point that physical and verbal altercations have ensued. However, their achievements, sisterhood, and life-altering challenges have also been a part of their storylines.
Surprisingly, one of the show's original wives, Evelyn Lozada, is not a part of the cast this season. She joined the cast as the fiance of the former NBA forward, Antoine Walker. Tami Roman is also missing from this year's crew. Tami came on the show as the ex-wife of former NBA point guard Kenny Allen and did multiple seasons with the franchise, becoming an instrumental part of the show. However, Jennifer, Brooke, Brandi, Angel, DJ Duffey, and British are all back from previous seasons.
This season is only a couple of episodes underway, so there's still time to tune in on Monday nights 8/7 ct.
