After a high-profile trial involving charges of racketeering, conspiracy, and sex trafficking, Sean "Diddy" Combs was found guilty of lesser offenses related to the transportation of former girlfriends for prostitution in July.

Today, he was sentenced for these crimes. According to Reuters, “Combs, 55, remained stoic as U.S. District Judge Arun Subramanian announced the 50-month sentence at the end of a day-long hearing in Manhattan federal court.”

Since his arrest, Combs has been denied bail and has remained incarcerated until today’s sentencing. He could potentially be released in less than three years, as he will receive credit for the time he has already spent in custody at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn since his arrest on September 16, 2024, as reported by Reuters.

Attending the sentencing were his mother, children, and some of his former romantic partners. While several individuals, including Yung Miami and his former girlfriend, Gina Huynh, submitted letters on his behalf, his children also provided testimonials to the court.

Combs’ trial took place in May 2025. His former longtime girlfriend, Cassie Ventura, served as a key witness. Cassie testified that Combs was physically, emotionally, and sexually abusive towards her for years. She described a lifestyle with the music mogul that included regular drug-fueled sex parties with male escorts lasting several days. Ventura stated that in exchange for her participation in his lifestyle, he financed her high-profile lifestyle.

Before the trial, CNN aired hotel footage showing Combs abusing Cassie at a Los Angeles hotel in 2016. Although he wasn't tried for domestic violence, the video is believed to have been prejudicial to his case.

Several individuals testified about Combs' violence toward Cassie, including Kerry Morgan, Cassie's best friend; former R&B singer Dawn Richard; Kid Cudi, who previously dated Cassie; sex workers; and others.

Combs will receive time served for his incarceration in the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn since his arrest.
