Sean Puffy Comb's former security guard, Roger Bonds, subtly came forward regarding what he witnessed between Puffy and Cassie Ventura after being named in Cassie's lawsuit against Sean, which was recently settled for an undisclosed amount. Via Instagram, Roger explained that his four daughters are part of the reason he's speaking out; he stated, "Now that my name is involved I will tell my TRUTH." "This is not meant to be threats or snitching or anything like that against Cassie or Diddy or anyone else," Bonds said. "This is me telling my truth as I truly remember it for 2 reasons only, 1st because I have 4 daughters so on all dudes my truth as I seen it, saw it and was involved with for yrs." He also explained, "IM WILLING TO TELL MY TRUTH BECAUSE FOR SO MANY YRS I WAS QUIET, Nothing matters now but FAMILY."
Although Bonds didn't give any specific details about what he witnessed, his statements implied that he had a lot of first-hand knowledge about what happened in Puffy's camp. According to the lawsuit, Ventura alleged the former head of security witnessed Diddy stomping on her after she spoke to a music manager at a Los Angeles club in 2009. She credited Bonds for trying to intervene and stop the assault.
Gene Deal, another former security guard for Diddy, has talked about the record executive's violent tendencies against women he dated. He said Kim Porter experienced the same cycle of abuse as Cassie. Gene recalled Kim cutting Combs on the wrist with a corkscrew in self-defense one time when he assaulted her; he told The Art of Dialogue podcast—"I can say one time when I know Kim had defended herself...You see a picture on the internet with Puff's right hand in a bandage; that's the night I was called by Paul to meet him over at St. Luke's Hospital. He had a white t-shirt wrapped around his wrist cause Kim had took the corkscrew and cut him on his wrist, defending herself."
The allegations and lawsuits against Diddy are impacting his business ventures. Macy's is reportedly starting to phase out his clothing line, Sean John. According to The Jasmine Brand, "Diageo is using the latest claims against Diddy in its argument on why the celeb should no longer be featured in DeLeón tequila ads." DeLeón is Combs' tequila brand, and Diageo is the parent company.
