An online petition on Change.org, which seems to mock Nicki Minaj, is calling for the rapper's deportation and has gone viral after many people expressed their anger over her recent praise for the Trump administration at AmericaFest, an event sponsored by Turning Point USA, the late Charlie Kirk’s platform. The petition has now gathered nearly 30,000 signatures after her interview with Kirk's widow, Erika Kirk, which continues to circulate online.
Minaj, an immigrant from Trinidad and Tobago, previously expressed her disdain for ICE's deportation tactics in October. On social media, the New York rapper shared her experiences as an illegal immigrant who migrated to America as a small child. She conveyed her feelings about the "horror," "terror," and "panic" that current illegal immigrants face during ICE deportations.
In past years, Minaj had made it clear that she would not support the Trump administration. In fact, she dissed Melania Trump onstage during a Tidal X concert in 2016, calling the First Lady "brainless."
The creator of the petition cited her marriage to Kenneth Petty, a registered sex offender with a criminal conviction for sexual assault as part of the reason the singer should face deportation. The petition argues, "She is married to Kenneth Petty, a registered sex offender, whose criminal history brings additional concern. Despite the gravity of his past actions, Minaj continues to fiercely defend him, reportedly going as far as intimidating and threatening his victims. Such actions demonstrate a blatant disregard for the law and for the safety of others."

The petition further states, "Deporting Nicki Minaj back to her home country, Trinidad, seems the most viable solution to curtail her harmful actions. It would ensure the safety of American citizens and send a clear message that harassment and support of criminal activity will not be tolerated."
Petty has denied that a sexual assault occurred in the '90s, when both he and his alleged victim, Jennifer Hough, were teenagers. Hough discussed the alleged incident on The Real talk show in 2021 and later sued Petty and Minaj for harassment and intimidation. While Minaj was reportedly dropped from the lawsuit, it remains unclear whether her spouse settled the suit with Hough.
The petition, created six months ago by an online user, who appears to be using the alias, Pedonika Minaj, features a generic photo of Nicki and a collection of mugshots of her husband.
