A family from Waterloo, Iowa, the DeLeons, experienced an unimaginable tragedy following a car accident in Kenya, Africa, that claimed the lives of all three of their children. Emmanuel, a student at Hoover Middle School, and his younger brother Kairo, who attended Royal Legacy Christian Academy, died on impact. Their oldest sibling, Njeri, a junior at West High, was in intensive care after the accident on January 4th but sadly passed away on Friday, January 16th.

The parents, Leah and Christopher, were not severely injured and chose to remain in Kenya throughout Njeri's passing. In response to the devastating loss, a family friend established a GoFundMe campaign. Following Njeri's death, the fundraiser grew to $70,000, with over $63,000 raised so far.
