A Mayor in Maryland Was Arrested on 56 Counts of Child Pornography & Distribution of Pornography

College Park, Maryland's Mayor, Patrick Wojahn, resigned after being arrested for child pornography. Wojahn has been charged with 56 counts of distribution and possession of child pornography. Authorities linked a social media account that was flagged for child pornography to Wojahn. He was serving his second term as the mayor of the city. Local authorities reportedly confiscated electronic devices from his home, and are conducting an investigation. The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children is also involved in the case. According to ABC News, Yahoo was brought into the investigation after being subpoenaed by authorities to gain access to an email account associated with the former mayor.

If convicted, he faces up to 360 years in prison. The city plans to have an emergency re-election for a new mayor. Stay tuned for later news regarding this story.
